For this year:s project i have decided to build a propagator and monitor the progress of the plants by periodically posting some pictures on this page.

The propagator is made from pieces of plastic house facia board and pieces of plastic soffit which is ideal as it does not warp or twist.

A 50mm insulating board has been placed in the bottom and then covered in 25mm of sand which covers the soil warming cable.

Plastic hoops were then attached to the sides and covered with a milky white plastic sheet
The warming tray will hold three 3x1.5 trays.

Here on the left we have a tray of six stools of john whigfield and twenty cuttings of yellow john whigfield together with a cutting of max riley i will follow through the stages of growth.

sticking out of the bottom of the pot.
The root will be longer than the plant is tall.

Middle row left is a pink john whigfield cutting taken on
6/1/08.the label will remain with the plant untill it is lifted as a stool.
On the right of this are plants potted into 2 litre pots and placed in the north east side of the green house
